Why did I choose to go back to Miss International

One's ability to succeed is to perseve. Last year I made top 11 at nationals but I won't stop there. I believe in trying. I decided to return to Miss International because of what it stands for. This pageant system does not only encourage young women to be a voice in their communities and fight for a cause but it also has the same Christianity value as I do. Before we began orientation , the first thing Mary, our director, asked us to do was pray and before our interview she prayed with us. Right after she began to pray, I knew this system was made for me.  That helped me with my stress and brought me so much confidence knowing that we invited God to take control over everything and to guide us during our interviews. Everything went smooth. During my week , I met some amazing sister queens who are passionate about their platforms. Through this pageant system I was able to promote my platform nationally and internationally. I am grateful to have the opportunity to work with diffe...

Volunteer Week: April 23-29

Good morning! Happy Tuesday!    I am so excited because the week of 23-29 of April is the National Volunteer Appreciation Week. First, let me start by thanking all the volunteers for their time and everything they do to serve their communities. You guys make this world better with the unpaid service you all provide. To celebrate the volunteer week I am going to volunteer at a few events. How will you celebrate your volunteer week? I am going to volunteer at the March of Dimes on Saturday 29 th , you should too!  It is an event that’s all over the  US , contact March of Dimes office in your city to volunteer. They need help with registration, greeting, set up and so many more. March of Dimes helps to end premature birth, birth defects and infant mortality. I, myself, was a preemie born at 7 months and I wish my family had a program like March of Dimes that would have help them out when I was born. This is why I’m volunteering. For me and all the preemies. Premature b...

Pageant prep

Good morning everyone,              It’s been exactly 18 days since I’ve been crowned Miss Haiti International 2017. It has always been my dream to represent Haiti at nationals and I am doing everything to do it well this upcoming summer with God’s help. I have been working for national way before I won to shine on stage for HAITI. As Miss Haiti International, my goal is to reach out to the youth in Haiti to get them involved in their communities and also incorporate volunteering in Haiti school system. So I am getting ready for my trip to Haiti to organize volunteer drives and give out hygiene items, foods, and baby items to underprivileged families. Please join me by donating hygiene items, school supplies, foods or money for shipping. Follow my journey through social media for more updates.  Instagram: Misshaitiintl2017 Blog: http://misshaitiinternational2017.blog...

New Day New Beginning

Dwelling on my past has been one of my major issues that I pray about daily. Instead of trusting God and let him guide me, I sometimes blew my mind with so many questions such as why me, why did it happen to me and so many more that leaves me anxious. I finally understand that dwelling on my past brings nothing but stress. This year God answers my prayer; now I focus less on my past and more about my present. I am encouraging you all to trust God. God gives us new opportunity every single day and it is up to us to make different decisions. Do not worry about what you have done yesterday; it is the past. Today is a new day and you can make better choices. Take this pledge with me: “Today is a new day; I leave yesterday in the past. I will do my best with God’s guidance to make better decisions for my life.” Learn from your past but do not dwell on it.  “Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do y...

To the woman who inspires me the most : My Mother

I choose to honor my mother today. My mom has inspired me since I was a little girl. She raised me to be the caring and generous woman I am today. She loves to share every little thing she has. I remember every time she was off from work back in Haiti , she would cook for the whole neighborhood. She has sent so many children to school, fed them and provided school supplies to them. She is my biggest fan. It is not surprising that I choose to give back through my platform. I pray that I can be half of the woman she is.  Thank you for your support mommy  throughout my pageantry journey.
